Distinguished Name

An SSL Certificate contains information that helps establish trust online. The certificate's organisational information will be displayed near the address bar in high-security browsers when Extended Validation SSL Certificates are in use. And the information is shown on the certificate verification page for all VeriSign SSL Certificates when users click the VeriSign Secured® Seal or the closed padlock. The Distinguished Name information should be entered accurately to reflect your registered organisation name. Be sure to use capitalisation, abbreviations and punctuation exactly as you would like it to appear to Web site visitors.

You can change the corporate and technical contacts during the renewal enrolment process. However, you will need to apply for a new certificate if any of the Distinguished Name information has changed, with the exception of the Organisational Unit.
